Making Wellbeing Easier to Continue

Recently, I’ve been reflecting on something I’ve noticed while spending time in Denmark.
There seems to be less pressure for everything to be perfect.
People still work hard.
They still have responsibilities.
They still have goals.
But there is a sense of ease that I find refreshing.
It made me think about how often we place pressure on ourselves.
Pressure to do more.
Pressure to be more.
Pressure to get everything right.
Even when it comes to our wellbeing.
The more I thought about it, the more I realized that most of us already know the basics.
We know movement is good for us.
We know rest matters.
We know taking care of ourselves is important.
The challenge is rarely knowing what to do.
The challenge is continuing.
Life gets busy.
Work demands our attention.
Family responsibilities grow.
Unexpected things happen.
And before long, the habits we wanted to maintain become difficult to sustain.
Not because we don’t care.
But because life is full.
Sometimes I wonder if we make things harder than they need to be.
We tell ourselves we need the perfect plan.
The perfect routine.
The perfect level of consistency.
And when we can’t maintain it, we become discouraged.
But perhaps the goal was never perfection.
Perhaps the goal is simply to continue.
To continue caring for ourselves in the middle of real life.
To continue even when our schedules change.
To continue even when our energy is low.
To continue without judging ourselves for every setback.
Life will always have highs and lows.
Some seasons will feel easier than others.
Some weeks will go according to plan.
Some won’t.
Maybe wellbeing isn’t about avoiding those realities.
Maybe it’s about learning how to care for ourselves through them.
Without pressure.
Without comparison.
Without the need to be perfect.
These aren’t answers or rules.
They’re simply observations from my own experience.
Like many women, I’m still learning what it means to care for my wellbeing in a way that feels sustainable.
What I’ve come to appreciate is that life doesn’t always move in a straight line, and neither do we.
At La Rouge, this belief sits quietly at the heart of what we’re building.
Not perfection.
Not performance.
Simply encouraging women to make time for their wellbeing in a way that fits the life they’re already living.
Because most women don’t need more pressure.
What many of us need is a way to continue.
And perhaps that’s enough.
